A very rare, distinctive  palm  whose botanical name many collectors and palm enthusiasts mistakenly take  to mean “dry loving” or xeroscopic in nature.
 It is very slow growing, extremely cold hardy and has withstood temperatures in the upper 20’s (F) is somewhat drought tolerant but responds well to regular watering and fertilizer. Its leaflets are narrow, stiff and blue green in color. Remember it does not like it dry, but well drained soil and filtered light to full sun is a must.
